And Ajax led twelve ships from Salamis,
and these he stationed by the Athenian ranks.

A paltry entry for today, but Tuesdays are busy. Not only is this contingent very briefly mentioned, but it also receives almost no coloring. The ships aren’t even described as “black” or “curved”; Ajax isn’t even given his patronymic epithet. Was Aristarchus right to athetize it?
